Christ is an Oasis for His people in a gray and desolate world. He is our thirst quencher - our refuge. He has blessed us so that we can be a blessing to others. This is the reason we go on these trips; to service the people of His community.
OASIS in Action
Each of the past four summers, John Wesley Youth led mission trips to Newton, Texas to assist a local church with a community still hurting from recent hurricanes. These trips were open to both junior high and senior high school students from the Houston area. Some of our work teams did home repairs, some performed repairs to a local battered woman’s shelter and the entire group provided a two-day Vacation Bible School for the children of the community and hosted a big youth rally.
Funds from The Shannon Stovall Youth Mission Fund were used to supply materials and other items for these trips.
